Rep. Dittrich: Dittrich and Sen. Testin PDMP bill signed into law as Act 5

Madison – Representative Barbara Dittrich (R – Oconomowoc) released the following statement after Senate Bill 68, the bill she authored with Senator Pat Testin, was signed into law:

“I thank Senator Pat Testin for working with me to get this done. We know that too often, prescription drug addiction and abuse can lead to illicit drug abuse. Our state has found this program to be overwhelmingly successful and is supported by our medical professionals, law enforcement, and courts alike.

“The Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) was started in the HOPE Agenda to help combat this crisis. Two provisions in the PDMP were set to expire this year. Senate Bill 68 extends those two provisions for another 5 years.

“With the extention of the PDMP, we will continue to see positive movement in ending drug abuse in Wisconsin.”
