Minocqua Brewing Company: Oneida County files for temporary restraining order to shut down the Taproom

Minocqua, WI – Oneida County has initiated legal action to shut down the Minocqua Brewing Company’s taproom. A hearing regarding the temporary restraining order is scheduled for Monday, June 17th at 2:00 pm at the Oneida County Courthouse.

This latest attempt to close the taproom comes almost exactly one year after similar actions were taken against the brewery. The expedited proceedings by Oneida County bypasses the normal process. This hurried up effort aims to close the largest tourist attraction in the region during the peak of the summer season, providing Minocqua Brewing Company with limited time to prepare a defense.

The Minocqua Brewing Company has established itself as a significant progressive voice in Northern Wisconsin, attracting thousands of tourists to its historic downtown Minocqua location. Despite the brewery’s substantial contributions to the local economy, Oneida County is pursuing measures to revoke its business license and shut down its operations.
