Madison, Wis. (March 2024) – The Varsity Collective and Potosi Brewing Company are thrilled to announce a truly Wisconsin partnership, the creation of Varsity Golden Ale, a new custom beer. Both organizations rallied around the opportunity to bring this product to life, with 20% of the sales revenue donated to The Varsity Collective in support of creating valuable Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) opportunities for student-athletes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“We are extremely excited to partner with Potosi Brewing Company on this project. Their passion for brewing beer and perseverance to stay true to their roots since 1852 has led them to a tradition we align with,” said Paul Wrycha, board member of The Varsity Collective. “We knew we needed a brewery that would deliver a quality product and generate passive revenue so we could focus on The Varsity Collective’s mission of supporting student-athletes.”
Varsity Golden Ale clocks in at 4.0% ABV, pours a rich golden color, has the effervescence of a winning crowd, and a crisp, sessionable flavor profile.
This custom beer is set to be available statewide starting in mid-April, providing fans with a refreshing option to enjoy during sporting events, whether from the comfort of their couch, a barstool, or a stadium.
“We are passionate Badger fans that happen to make beer,” said Dave Fritz, volunteer President of Potosi Foundation, sole owner of the Potosi Brewing Company. “We are honored to be partnering on this exciting project that will have a lasting impression on Wisconsin’s fans as well as the athletes. On, Wisconsin!”
This collaboration not only brings a new beer to the market but also supports student-athletes, showcasing the positive impact that creative partnerships can have on both the sports community and the local brewing industry.
