Kahler Slater: Announces Chicago office move to accommodate accelerated growth

(Milwaukee, WI – November 14, 2023) Kahler Slater, an award-winning architecture, interior design, environmental branding and strategic advisory firm, is pleased to announce the firm’s Chicago office will move to a new location. Kahler Slater will be moving to the 17th floor of 150 North Wacker Drive in January 2024.

Headquartered in Milwaukee, Kahler Slater opened their Chicago office in early 2020 which established their 4th U.S. office location. Today, the firm has a staff of more than 120 nationally and operates offices in Milwaukee, Madison, Richmond, and Chicago. The firm offers market expertise in the design of workplace interiors, corporate, hospitality, residential, healthcare, higher education, sports, and cultural projects.

Glenn Roby, co-Chief Executive Officer, notes “This move represents another significant milestone in Kahler Slater’s 115-year legacy. As workplace experts, we know the importance of providing our team with an environment that supports their needs and creative abilities. The new office will allow us to embrace our design culture by offering spaces to foster connection both internally and with clients.” He adds, “Our firm believes in the vibrancy of urban downtowns. This new office space reinforces our position as business leaders and our commitment to the city centers where we live and work.”

“Our new office location provides the opportunity to expand upon the success we achieved in four years in Chicago. It allows us to continue our strategic growth, supporting our clients locally and across the country,” said Trina Sandschafer, Executive Vice President and Design Principal.

The new office space will allow the firm to expand their current staff by accommodating more than 30 team members. The design will support Kahler Slater’s hybrid work model and best practices for workplace design, which they designed during their move to the BMO Tower. The new office is located in Chicago’s bustling West Loop and offers the neighborhood and lifestyle amenities which are important for employee engagement. It will also serve as the Chicago location for the Kahler Slater Studio, a collaborative graduate studio bringing together the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

“The tremendous growth we have seen in Chicago comes from living our mission to enrich lives and achieve powerful results. This new office space is one of the many ways we intentionally foster our firm wide design culture of creativity and collaboration,” shares Al Krueger, co-Chief Executive Officer.
