MARSHFIELD – Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., supports and respects its employees who actively serve in the military. The Wisconsin Committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense program, announced its recognition of Security Health Plan Nurse Manager Laurie Rock on Nov. 9.
The ESGR mission is to help develop and promote a culture in which all employers support and value the military service of their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. Security Health Plan utilization review specialist and Sergeant Major in the Wisconsin Army National Guard Terri Vollrath nominated Rock for the Patriotic Employer award. This award recognizes the high level of support that Rock, a Security employee since 1999, has provided during Vollrath’s service in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
“Laurie goes above and beyond the standard expectation of a supportive boss,” Vollrath said. “While I was deployed on COVID-19 orders, she regularly reached out to me and set a standard of appreciation within my team. The support from Laurie and Security Health Plan continues to enable me to serve in uniform.”
Over half of the United States Armed Forces is comprised of members of the Guard and Reserve. The Department of Defense shares these citizen soldiers with their civilian employers, many of whom provide significant support.
“Security Health Plan is proud to support our employees who nobly work a second career in the Guard or Reserve,” said Security Health Plan Chief Executive Officer Krista Hoglund. “I am grateful to Terri for her service and am proud of Laurie for being a beacon at Security.”
