Mulva Cultural Center: Prepares its operations

(De Pere, WI)As the final phases of construction near completion, and in anticipation of its opening later this year, the Mulva Cultural Center has been hiring key positions for the Center. The core team for the Center when it opens its doors will include previously announced personnel including:

  • Marv Wall – Executive Director of Operations
  • Thomas Shefchik – Executive Director of Community Relations
  • Laureen Endter – Gift Shop Manager and Buyer

Also joining the team will be:

  • Liz Miller – Chief Financial Officer
  • Emmeline Erikson – Executive Director of Exhibits and Programs
  • Lauren Schnell – Human Resources Manager
  • Anne Danen – Director of Membership and Events
  • Jim Brozak – Building Engineer

The Center’s board will continue to review and add senior positions to its executive leadership team to ensure excellence in fulfilling its mission.

As previously planned, Mike Van Asten, who was hired as CEO in 2019 to oversee the development and construction of the Center, will transition out of that role now that construction nears completion. “It was my honor to help guide this project from concept through construction. I feel confident that this is the right point to turn things over to those who will handle operations as the Center gets ready to open its doors. It is going to be a crown jewel of arts and culture, not just in Northeast Wisconsin, but throughout the Midwest.” Van Asten will remain a member of the Center’s Board of Directors.

Made possible by philanthropists James and Miriam Mulva, the Mulva Cultural Center will showcase the finest traveling exhibits in the world within its architecturally significant building located in historic downtown De Pere.
