NEW Construction Alliance: Fall 2023 quarterly meeting set for October 12

NEW NORTH, September 14, 2023 – The Fall 2023 Quarterly Meeting of the NEW Construction Alliance (NEWCA) – focused on workforce development within the construction industry – will be held on October 12, starting at 4 p.m. Anyone interested in hearing diverse speakers on strategies to grow the construction industry workforce is welcome to attend.

Among the scheduled speakers on the topic of workforce initiatives are Tania Kilpatrick of CESA 6, on youth apprenticeship programs; Jennifer Marks of Highway Construction Skills Training program (HCST), on women and minority recruitment; and Steve Janke of Mission Wisconsin, on military-talent recruitment and training initiatives such as SkillBridge as part of the New North Hires Heroes program.

Industry leaders, educators and stakeholders will come together to discuss and strategize the future construction workforce, along with addressing local opportunities in skill development and diversity to assist in meeting the region’s construction talent needs.

The NEWCA Fall 2023 Quarterly Meeting will be held at Holidays Pub & Grill, 3950 N. Richmond St. in Appleton. Following interactive presentations, the event will conclude with networking, including food and drinks, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
