Wauwatosa, WI — On Monday, August 28, the Wauwatosa School District Board of Education approved the appointment of Ms. Jessica Huinker as the new Director of Finance.
Huinker possesses more than 10 years of experience in administrative and financial capacities within school districts, most recently serving as Controller of the Business Office in the School District of Waukesha. In that role, she managed accounting and financial operations within a district of 11,000 students. She also managed $19 million in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds through the use of WiseGrants. Huinker has been recognized for her organizational, technical, financial, and administrative skills, and as part of her professional development, she has participated in both Skyward and Federal Funding conferences to enrich her expertise in her field. Earlier in her career, Huinker served as District Accountant of the Business Office in the School District of Waukesha.
Huinker is pursuing a master’s degree in school business management from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, with an expected completion date of May 2025. Additionally, she holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing management from the University of Northern Iowa.

Huinker’s contract will be effective September 11, 2023.
