MADISON, Wis. — Rep. Neubauer released the following statement following Governor Evers’ action on the 2023-2025 biennial budget:
“The line item vetoes announced by Governor Evers today make a number of important improvements to this budget, including providing a middle class tax cut while protecting the long term fiscal viability of the state of Wisconsin. But make no mistake — Republicans did not put forward a budget that meets the needs of every community and our work is far from complete. The legislature must do our job and bring forward policy that ensures all Wisconsinites can thrive. Assembly Democrats will continue working alongside the Senate Democrats and Governor Evers to address our state’s workforce challenges and longstanding inequities, increase access to childcare, and more.”
