GREEN BAY, Wis. — On Broadway, Inc. is kicking off the Levitt AMP Green Bay Music Series this Sunday in Leicht Park. Ten weeks of FREE live music will start Sunday, June 25 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Broadway District and runs every week through August 27.
The purpose of the Levitt AMP Music Series is to bring the joy of free, live music to people of all ages and backgrounds, transforming underused public spaces into thriving community destinations.
Empire Strikes Brass is headlining week one. The North Carolina-based ensemble curates high-energy arrangements of brass, funk and rock.
Cullah is opening the concert with dynamic and captivating performance. The Milwaukee native explores a variety of music styles.
“Come enjoy a variety of musical performances and engage with different members of our community through the programming,” said Allie Thut, director of special events, On Broadway, Inc. “We are looking to unite the community by providing new experiences. Come out, learn from each other, dance, sing and experience the joy of live music.”
Some of the programming planned for this Sunday includes celebrating World Refugee Day, watching a marching band intermission performance, Hmong dancers, a LGBTQ bookstore, food trucks and more! Bring a blanket or a lawn chair to spend time at the event. Dogs are welcome!
Green Bay received a $90,000 match grant from the Levitt Foundation to create a 10 week FREE concert series in Leicht Park over the course of three years. Green Bay is now part of a national network of Levitt AMP concert sites in 2023 strengthening communities through music.
The series aims to bring area residents together and activate a public space for all to enjoy original live music with an emphasis on arts and culture.
