Waukesha County Parks & Land Use: Waukesha County recycling: Household hazardous waste and spring cleaning 2023

(Waukesha, WI) – Spring cleaning season has arrived, and Waukesha County Parks & Land Use reminds residents to visit Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection sites to safely dispose of chemicals and dangerous materials. Waukesha County has three free sites and four one-time collection events for residents.

“Keeping hazardous materials and chemicals out of landfills is important,” said Abbie Liedtke, Recycling & Solid Waste Supervisor for Waukesha County. “We have convenient locations throughout the County to serve all residents, so it’s easier than ever to lessen the potential risks associated with this type of waste.”

Items in their original containers and in reusable condition can be donated to the “Product Exchange” program at the ongoing collection sites. Waukesha County residents can pick up product exchange items at no charge. More information: www.WaukeshaCounty.gov/HazardousWaste.
