Brookfield, Wis. – September 30, 2021 – Wisconsin-based health insurer Network Health announced today the addition of John Whittemore as vice president of Medicare and individual sales. Whittemore brings more than 25 years of health insurance experience to Network Health, including leading Medicare sales for more than 10 years.
A proven growth leader, Whittemore has built and re-energized health insurance plans in multiple states. He has an extensive background in Medicare and has experience growing membership through multiple channels. Whittemore has worked closely with a team of brokers, recognizing opportunities for other growth strategies. Whittemore will be based out of the Brookfield office but will work with his team in both the Menasha and Brookfield locations.
Whittemore most recently was the director of sales for government business at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana. In this role, he developed, implemented, and led Blue Advantage’s diversified Medicare Advantage sales channel distribution strategy. He also oversaw implementation and sales of the statewide HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) and PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) Medicare Advantage Individual and Group product portfolio. He was promoted into this role from director of sales for group Medicare Advantage, where he was responsible for launching the employer group waiver plans.

Whittemore earned a bachelor’s degree in science from Ball State University in Indiana with a major in political science and history, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans.
Whittemore resides in the Milwaukee area with his wife Bonnie, daughter Amelia and son Parker.
