Green Bay Labor Council: Labor Day Drive-Thur Food Drive

GREEN BAY—The Greater Green Bay Labor Council and The Greater Green Bay Labor Council’s AFL-CIO Community Services Program is sponsoring the 1 st Annual Labor Day Drive-Thur Food Drive event on Monday, September 7 at Green Bay Labor Temple, 1570 Elizabeth Street, Green Bay from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Food Drive replaces the GGBLC Community Services Committee’s Annual Labor Day Picnic that is normally held on Labor Day but was cancelled this year because of COVID 19.

The public is asked to bring donations to the Labor Temple parking lot on Labor Day and donate to those in hunger. The Food Drive is accepting non-perishable food at its drive through food drive for distribution to area shelters and food pantries.

Labor Day is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country.

GGBLC President Steve McFarlane and other members of organized labor will be available for interviews on Labor Day.
