The Wisconsin Biotech Happy Hour is a monthly networking event for biotechnology professionals. This casual monthly event provides a fun and relaxed atmosphere in which professionals can meet others in the industry and exchange ideas. This creative and multi-purposed event has historically been a vehicle for industry professionals to support related industry in Wisconsin through school scholarships, and business and scientific mentoring programs.
Last week, the group reached out to Gilda’s Club Madison, a local cancer support community. In a short time, the Happy Hour attendees donated more than $200 to help ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
“We are always thrilled to have a chance to share our mission and I think it’s marvelous that our local biotech professionals are finding new and exciting ways to support patients and families in Madison,” said Lannia Stenz, executive director of Gilda’s Club.
The Wisconsin Biotech Happy Hour is sponsored by Aberdean, Bioforward, Luminis Communications, University Research Park and Makin’ Hey! Communications and there are many other businesses that participate in the monthly event.
“The Happy Hour is a fun way for all of us to give back and make a real difference in our community. At the same time, network and catch up with biotech colleagues and friends. It would be great to see more industries get creative for a worthwhile cause,” said Jennifer Gillette of Aberdean.
