Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council Names New Board Member
MADISON, WI APRIL 19TH 2011: The Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Geason-Bauer (Oconomowoc WI), Evolution Marketing President, to the Advisory Board of the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. Ms. Geason-Bauer will be one of twelve representatives on the Council who represent owners, executive staff and management from Wisconsin based companies that are adopting sustainable business practices within their organizations.
In 2010 Evolution Marketing was awarded the Green Professional designation through the Green Masters Program, which is managed by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. In order for Evolution Marketing to qualify as a Green Professional they needed to take actions in each of nine sustainability areas (energy, climate change, water, waste management, transportation, supply chain, community/educational outreach, workforce and governance) related to their business, and score more than 100 points. Geason-Bauer, explains, “Some of the steps which Evolution Marketing has engaged in over the last four years to “green” up the business operations include; green building an office with environmentally friendly materials (Forest Stewardship certified doors and Energy Star rated windows), using no voc paint, installing all energy efficient lighting and reclaimed office furniture.” Geason-Bauer and her team have also made strategic purchasing decisions, “All office equipment we have purchased is energy star rated, even the phone system!” Evolution Marketing is the first communication/marketing firm in Wisconsin to be recognized in the Green Masters Program.

The Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council serves businesses in the state that are interested in sustainability, corporate social responsibility or corporate citizenship. The Council’s focus is on educating Wisconsin businesses, facilitating information exchange and supporting businesses that are interested in moving in a more sustainable direction. In addition, the Council will provide a platform for bringing existing groups together, coordinating between these groups and building a united effort to brand the state as a hotbed for innovation, cleantech, alternative energy and sustainability leadership.
