Dept. of Health Services: Pris Boroniec named to lead DHS Division of Long Term Care

MADISON – Department of Health Services Secretary Dennis Smith announced today that Pris Boroniec has been appointed to the position of Division Administrator for the Division of Long Term Care. Boroniec comes to DHS from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based health care consulting firm Sellers Dorsey where she served as Director of Health Care Reform. She has more than 33 years of health policy experience including serving as the Deputy Administrator of the DHS Division of Health Care Financing.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to welcome Pris Boroniec back to the Department of Health Services, especially at a time when the Medicaid program faces so many challenges. Her wealth of experience will be an invaluable resource when it comes to stabilizing our Medicaid Long Term Care programs for decades to come,” said Secretary Smith.

In her position as Director of Health Care Reform for Sellers Dorsey, Boroniec consulted with a wide range of states including Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Texas, Michigan, Washington, South Dakota, Colorado, Mississippi, Wisconsin, and Indiana. During her previous service with DHS, from 1998 to 2005, she played an instrumental role in the nation’s first SCHIP waiver program, BadgerCare and the SeniorCare Pharmacy Plus waiver program.

Boroniec holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.
