MILWAUKEE, Wis. (July 29, 2005) – The Wisconsin office of the World Trade Center announced that it is leading a business mission to China from September 17-29. It has secured key commitments of participation and coordination from a number of important companies operating in Wisconsin.
“Our goal is to connect Wisconsin businesses with investment opportunities in China,” said Christian Bartley, Executive Director of World Trade Center Wisconsin. “This mission is an invaluable opportunity for Wisconsin companies to increase exports to one of the fastest growing economies in the world.”
The WTC Wisconsin business mission will visit Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. WTC Wisconsin will provide Wisconsin companies a quick and practical channel into the Chinese marketplace.
“This mission is all about creating new business opportunities for Wisconsin companies,” said Bartley. “We will leverage the connections of the World Trade Center network to arrange one-on-one matchmaking meetings for Wisconsin businesses in each city.”
WTC Wisconsin is coordinating the mission with a number of other World Trade Center offices including Chicago and Hong Kong. As part of the mission, participants will take part in the Word Trade Center Association General Assembly September 21-24 in Shanghai, providing an opportunity to network with representatives from the Association’s 300 offices in 92 countries.
“We are pleased to have received tremendous support from key companies operating in Wisconsin,” said Bartley. Sponsors of the WTC Wisconsin mission include the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, JP Morgan Chase, Northwest Airlines, Virchow Krause and Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek. JP Morgan Chase and Virchow Krause both have affiliate offices in China, which are assisting in meeting coordination.
WTC Wisconsin has a few open seats for the delegation, but space is limited. The cost for the China mission is estimated at $5695 for WTC members and $6600 for non-members, including travel, accommodations and meeting coordination.
