MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that ten Wisconsin businesses
will share more than $26,400 in planning grant funding from the Department
of Commerce Dairy 2020 and Rural Economic Development (RED) Programs.
“My Grow Wisconsin Initiative calls for promoting economic development,”
Governor Doyle said. “Both of these programs provide professional planning
assistance to dairy producers, business owners, and entrepreneurs that are
considering starting-up or expanding their businesses.”
The projects are as follows:
* DS Farms, LLC, Alma, Buffalo County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
* Roger Bohl, Chippewa Falls, Chippewa County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
* Hanusa, LLC, Baraboo, Columbia County, $2,225 RED-1 grant
* Brent W. English, Barneveld, Dane County, $1,875 RED-1 grant
* Aaron Keopple, Menomonie, Dunn County, $2,367.25, RED-1 grant
* Bear Grass Dariy, Inc., Augusta, Eau Claire County, $3,000 Dairy
2020 grant
* Dowden Industrial Tubing, Inc., Brodhead, Green County, $1,970 RED-1
grant
* Laura A. Daniels, Mineral Point, Iowa County, $3,000 Dairy 2020
grant
* Allen A. Abraham, Darlington, Lafayette County, $3,000 Dairy 2020

The RED Program, administered by the Department of Commerce, helps small
rural businesses start-up and expand operations.
The Dairy 2020 Program, administered by the Department of Commerce, helps
improve the dairy business climate through business, government, and
education partnerships.
