MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that AFP Advanced Food Products
LLC, Clear Lake, Polk County, will receive a $40,000 Customized Labor
Training grant from the Wisconsin Development Fund to assist with labor
training. The award was made at the Wisconsin Development Finance Board
meeting held January 24, 2005 in Madison.

“Through my Grow Wisconsin plan, we are working hard to foster the growth of
business statewide, create high-wage, high-end jobs for our citizens, and
continue to strengthen our economy,” Governor Doyle said. “I am pleased
that AFP Advanced Food Products will use these funds to conduct training.”

AFP Advanced Food Products LLC produces products such as single-serve
pudding cups, diet drinks, and nacho cheese sauces. The company is
investing $3.2 million in purchasing new equipment to enhance the production
of one of its lines. The grant will be used to train 16 new full-time
positions.
