Milwaukee Public Schools: Greenfield Bilingual School addition ribbon cutting is Monday, February 24

Popular MPS school adds 4 classrooms, a new kitchen to prepare student meals, and conference space for teachers in 3-story addition

(MILWAUKEE, WI) – An addition at Greenfield Bilingual School has four classrooms that will provide more space for the 569 students enrolled at the popular school, including rooms for art and music instruction. News media are invited to a ribbon cutting for the project, taking place during Public Schools Week.

The addition also has a new, up-to-date kitchen to prepare meals for students, upgraded internet connectivity, and conference space for educators. The addition was funded primarily with federal pandemic relief dollars.

What: Ribbon cutting and tour of a 3-story addition to Greenfield Bilingual School

When: Monday, February 24, 2025

12:45 p.m.: Media may arrive to set up. The school band will play at 12:55 p.m.

1:00 p.m.: Brief program in the auditorium includes Mayor Cavalier Johnson presenting a proclamation recognizing Public Schools Week.

1:20 p.m.: Ribbon cutting followed by a tour of the addition, which will be led by the school student council and their family members 

Where: Greenfield Bilingual School, 1711 S. 35th St. Parking will be available on S. 36th St. or in the staff parking lot accessible from S. 36th St. 

At the main entrance, media should check in with safety assistants to be escorted to the auditorium for the brief program, followed by the tour.
