Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity: And Appleton Habitat ReStore celebrate Earth Day with Eco-Friendly Fun Fest

APPLETON, Wis. (April 16, 2025) —Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity, a leader in affordable housing solutions, is celebrating Earth Day with an Eco-Friendly Fun Fest at its Appleton Habitat ReStore, located at 5402 W. Integrity Way in Appleton (map) from 1-5 p.m. on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

“The ReStore prides itself on having a steadfast commitment to enhancing people’s lives with affordable home goods while also helping eliminate waste, which is beneficial for our earth,” explained Amy Christensen, director of volunteer services at Fox Cities Habitat. “Since Earth Day aligns so closely with our overall mission here at the ReStore, we’re excited to partner with so many community partners to show people how they can help our planet while also showcasing all the ReStore has to offer and providing a space for people to mingle and enjoy themselves.”

For over 20 years, the Appleton Habitat ReStore has helped keep more than 50 million pounds of reusable materials out of local landfills. This incredible impact is made possible by selling donated home materials and giving them a second life. Members of the community who shop at the ReStore not only save money but also play a vital role in reducing waste and supporting sustainability. Families are encouraged to shop the Earth Day deals the ReStore has to offer as part of the Appleton Habitat ReStore’s Eco-Friendly Fun Fest. The event includes family-friendly activities with several community organizations, including:

  • Rain barrel kits and a demo from Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance
  • Wooden spinning top creation with Jim Parker & Cres
  • Make your own wildflower seed bombs with Van Zeeland Nursery
  • Hourly drawings for donated bird houses from Woodcraft of Appleton and bare root trees from Leaves Inspired Tree Nursery
  • Milkweed seeds and craft booth with monarch butterfly education

  • Rain barrel drawings
  • Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) student art using repurposed ReStore items from Fox Valley ReStore showcase
  • Hot Biddies and Los Tres Manantiales food trucks on-site from 12-3 p.m.
