Washburn, Wis. (May 3, 2024) – The 4th Annual Sound Cheq Music Fest featuring 47 local bands will take place Memorial Day Weekend in Washburn.
“We have a lot of multi-talented community members with deep roots and commitment to Washburn who are performing throughout the weekend,” said Liz Woodworth, Sound Cheq Music Fest organizer. “A few of those people are Washburn business owners.”
Nate Swiston, owner of Washburn Hardware & Sport, will be performing on Saturday, May 25 with the band The Whitecaps.
“This will be The Whitecaps’ third year participating in this awesome event that showcases so much local talent and highlights Washburn venues,” said Swiston. “Anything organizations can do to create more exposure for Washburn businesses is critically important this year as we navigate the road construction along Highway 13.”
The music festival kicks-off Friday, May 24 at StageNorth Theater at 5:30 p.m. Other participating venues include South Shore Brewery, The Snug, 211 Martini Bar, and The Firehouse Bar. Festival attendees can expect to hear a variety of music throughout the weekend, from blues, bluegrass, jazz, and funk to rock and folk.
Shows will run Friday, May 24, Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26. Tickets are $25 for a three-day wristband or $10 for a day pass at each venue. Buy your wristband ahead of time at www.soundcheqmusicfest.com. If you are interested in volunteering to help make this event a success, you can sign up for a four-hour shift on our website. “We are excited to participate in this very well organized event again this year and we hope people will come out for a great weekend of music,” said Swiston.
