Neville Public Museum: ‘An Artistic Discovery,’ a High School Art Competition now open

Green Bay, WI—April 4, 2024—An Artistic Discovery is on display at the Neville Public Museum through May 12, 2024. This exhibition features 43 works of art from 10 schools produced by high school students in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.

Representative High Schools include Bay Port High School, Brillion High School, De Pere High School, Freedom High School, Kaukauna High School, Kimberly High School, Preble High School, Renaissance School for the Arts, Wrightstown High School, and Xavier High School.

The artwork covers a range of media and subject matter, which collectively display diverse levels of talent and exceptional creativity. 

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors this nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.

This year’s winners include:

First Place: Elizabeth Munao: Remembering Dad: Xavier High School

Second Place: Kaitlyn Malson: Unamused Relative: Kimberly High School

Third Place: Tessa Alison DeMeuse: Lady Justice: Preble High School
