Milwaukee Press Club: Peggy Williams-Smith of Visit Milwaukee headlines Newsmaker Luncheon

MILWAUKEE – Visit Milwaukee’s president and CEO, Peggy Williams-Smith, will be the featured guest at a Newsmaker Luncheon set for noon on Monday, June 24, hosted by the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com.

With more than 25 years in the hospitality and economic development industries, Williams-Smith, Visit’s first female president and CEO, shepherded Milwaukee’s tourism organization through the pandemic, the 2020 Democratic National Convention and the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2021 championship run among other high-profile events. She also led the city’s effort in its successful bid to host the upcoming 2024 Republican National Convention. Now on the cusp of the RNC, set to run July 15-18 at Fiserv Forum, Williams-Smith will discuss Visit Milwaukee’s role in the city and surrounding metro area.

Williams-Smith will take questions from a panel of journalists and from the audience at the luncheon, to be moderated by Milwaukee Press Club President Maryann Lazarski, series/documentary producer for Milwaukee PBS.
