Milwaukee Press Club: Milwaukee Chief of Police Jeffrey Norman to headline Newsmaker Luncheon

MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee Chief of Police Jeffrey Norman will be the guest speaker at a Newsmaker Luncheon set for Thursday, March 7, hosted by the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com.

Norman, who joined the Milwaukee Police Department in 1996, rose through the department, serving as a detective, lieutenant and captain before being named assistant chief in 2020. Among his responsibilities, Norman served as executive commander of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, overseeing the Homicide, Special Investigation, Violent Crimes, General Crimes, Sensitive Crimes, Fusion and Forensic Divisions. 

Later that year, Norman was appointed acting chief. He was sworn in as chief in November 2021.

Norman will take questions from a panel of journalists and from the audience at the luncheon, to be moderated by Milwaukee Press Club President Maryann Lazarski, series/documentary producer for Milwaukee PBS.

The luncheon is set for 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St. in Milwaukee.
