Mental Health America: Lakeshore fundraising campaign spans 10 days starting July 22, matching donor to double funds up to $10,000

Sheboygan County, Wis. (July 22, 2024)  Mental Health America (MHA) Lakeshore rallies the community to support the Resilient Classroom Project with an urgent campaign to raise $10,000 in 10 days. An anonymous donor is set to double the impact by matching up to $10,000 to generate a potential total of $20,000. If the fundraising goal is reached, the program will benefit 100 teachers and 2,500 students in the local Sheboygan County community.

“We’re rallying behind the Resilient Classroom Project, an empowering initiative that equips educators with essential tools to foster resilience in our young learners,” said Julie Preder, MHA Lakeshore Executive Director. “Imagine classrooms where students bounce back from setbacks, thrive in adversity, and grow into confident, resilient individuals. That’s the magic we’re creating!”

The Resilient Classroom Project was initiated in 2023 and is led by MHA Lakeshore Education Specialist Anna Grunwald, who spent 27 years as an educator in our local schools.

“Supporting RCP means investing in our students’ emotional health and helping them achieve their best. Resilience isn’t just a buzzword, it’s a superpower! Our young learners face challenges daily—academic, social, and emotional,” said Grunwald. “By supporting resilience training, you’re giving them the tools to bounce forward, learn from setbacks and thrive.”

Interested community members and businesses can support this appeal for the Resilient Classroom Project in various ways:

– Donate online.

– Spread the word by sharing the campaign with friends, family and fellow educators.

– Support by following progress on social media.

“We are eager to meet the $10,000 goal to earn the potential $20,000 for the educators to touch the lives of over 2,500 students creating a ripple effect that transforms communities and shapes futures,” said Preder. “That’s twice the resilience, twice the inspiration, and twice the positive change! Together, let’s build a world where resilience blooms, one classroom at a time.”
