In 1924, under the guidance of Art Hoard, owner of Hoard’s Resort and Hotel, the inaugural 9-hole, 3,056-yard, par 37 course opened as Koshkonong Place. This course laid the foundation for a century of golfing excellence and community engagement in Jefferson County.
Since its establishment in 1931, the Jefferson County Medalist Tournament has proudly been Wisconsin’s longest-running tournament, reflecting our dedication to competitive golf. Open to all Jefferson County golfers, the event is scheduled for June 29-30, 2024. For registration inquiries, contact Mason Kent, General Manager and Director of Golf, at mason@kmccgolf.com.
In 1944, 168 Stockholders acquired Hoard’s Resort and Hotel, leading to the formation of Koshkonong Mounds Resort, Inc., overseeing operations of the golf course, hotel, and cottages.
Over the years, KMCC has evolved with changes including a par adjustment in 1950, construction of a new clubhouse in 1961, and expansion to the current 18-hole, 6,591-yard, par 71 course in 1981. Modernization efforts continued with the installation of a new irrigation system in 1997-1998.
