IWG: More than doubles its footprint in Wisconsin, adding 18 new flexible workspace centers as demand for hybrid working continues to rise

  • IWG recently announced 18 new flexible workspace centers across Wisconsin, complete with coworking spaces, private offices, meeting rooms and creative spaces.
  • The new locations are part of the drive to provide top-class facilities in a wide variety of locations as hybrid working becomes a reality for more workers.
  • IWG’s footprint spans 30 flexible workspace locations across the state of Wisconsin, more than 1,200 centers in the U.S., and 4,000 globally.
  • IWG saw rapid growth in 2023, adding nearly 900 new flexible workspaces across-the-world.

IWG, the world’s largest provider of hybrid working solutions with brands including Regus and Spaces, announced the addition of 18 state-of-the-art flexible workspace centers across Wisconsin, more than doubling its current presence for a total of 30 IWG centers statewide. These new centers will operate under IWG’s Regus (14), HQ (3) and Spaces (1) brands to provide private offices, meeting rooms and creative coworking spaces to America’s Dairyland, driven by the rapidly accelerating demand for hybrid working.

The new flexible workspaces will serve every type of hybrid worker with clients spanning established firms and start-ups across Wisconsin’s top industries, including manufacturing, biohealth, aerospace and more. Further, IWG’s Design Your Own Office service will allow companies to tailor their space entirely, enabling them to adapt the space to their unique requirements and needs.

This mass expansion in Wisconsin comes on the heels of IWG’s highest-ever quarterly revenue report as well as its continued rapid network growth with nearly 900 locations added to its global network in 2023, driven by unprecedented demand for hybrid working solutions from both workers and companies of all sizes.

IWG’s growth has been driven by two distinct yet complementary trends that companies are embracing. First, many companies are reappraising their property portfolios and downsizing in city centers, replacing long, restrictive, and expensive leases with flexible workspaces that support hybrid working, like IWG. Second, employers are increasingly investing in satellite offices in suburbs or exurbs closer to where their employees live and want to be. This is part of the growing ‘hub-and-spoke’ office model, in which employees divide their time between local offices, home and city headquarters.

According to IWG’s research, only one in five workers are willing to commute more than 30 minutes a day, while 60% want a place to work within 15-minutes of their homes. The majority of IWG’s new locations, including those in Wisconsin, are in the heart of local communities to facilitate better work-life balance and accommodate the rising demand for shorter commutes.

Mark Dixon, CEO & Founder of IWG, commented, “With important business hubs across the state, Wisconsin is a fantastic place for us to boost our expansion plans. The need for high-quality flexible workspaces continues to soar as hybrid working becomes the new normal.”

“Our rapid growth in Wisconsin directly speaks to the extensive demand for hybrid working, as companies of all sizes continue to discover this model boosts employee happiness and satisfaction, while also helping the environment. Our workplace model is also proven to increase productivity and allows for a business to scale up or down at significantly reduced costs.”

“With 40% of U.S. workers already working in the hybrid model, and more set to follow, we are actively witnessing the transformative impact that flexible work is having on how and where people work and live with an almost universal desire amongst employees to work closer to home.  Hybrid work is radically reshaping our cities, our suburbs and beyond and IWG is responding to this by bringing more flexible workspaces into the heart of local communities with over 90% of the nearly 900 locations we added in 2023 are in the suburbs and small towns. ”
