MADISON – Today, the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announced their endorsement of Senator Melissa Agard to be the next Dane County Executive. The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce represents more than 1,200 diverse businesses across Dane County and beyond.
“As a former small business owner and longtime public servant, Senator Agard has proven she has the right experience, dedication and expertise to be Dane County Executive,” said Chamber President Zach Brandon. “She has deep roots in Greater Madison and cares passionately about the issues most important to the business community and our economic trajectory. We are proud to offer her our endorsement and support.”

Senator Agard was born and raised in Dane County and is the mother of four sons. She currently represents Wisconsin’s 16th Senate District and served as Senate Democratic Leader from November 2022 until December 2023. Prior to her time in the State Senate, Agard served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and on the Dane County Board.
Earlier this year, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced his intent to retire in 2024 and endorsed Senator Agard to be his successor.
