Middleton, WI (May 6, 2024) – For families facing cancer, Gilda’s Club Madison offers the missing piece to cancer care: emotional support. The Gilda’s Backyard BBQ fundraiser on Thursday, June 13, from 5:30 to 8:30pm ensures that all programs offered by Gilda’s Club are no cost for participants.
Gilda’s Club serves as a welcoming, safe, and inspiring community for those confronted with cancer. Kathryn, a member of Gilda’s Club, shares, “For me, Gilda’s helped me appreciate being alive. My second cancer experience was a wake-up call that every day is a gift. Trite, but true. We aren’t guaranteed our next days but we are in this together.”
Experience the joy of giving while enjoying mouth-watering BBQ fare provided by Blue Plate Catering, along with adult beverages, live music by Universal Sound, and a world-class live auction featuring once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Funds raised during this event will provide crucial emotional support for children, teens, adults, and caregivers affected by cancer.
Lannia Stenz, Executive Director/CEO, expresses her pride in the work Gilda’s Club does with families facing cancer, stating, “We help people manage what may be the biggest challenge they will ever face. Our mission would not be possible without the generous support and involvement of our community.”
