Brookfield, WI – March 7, 2024 – Over 900 students, parents, educators, sponsors and volunteers attended the 2nd Annual Explore STEAM event, presented by Generac and Milwaukee Tool, on Wednesday, February 28th in the Brookfield Central High School Main Gym. Attendees embarked on an evening of discovery and exploration as they went from station to station engaging in activities in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Robotics teams from the district were able to actively showcase their efforts in the areas of robotics and automation.
“The Elmbrook Education Foundation is once again blown away with the success of the Explore STEAM event on February 28th! This is thanks for all of the wonderful Elmbrook families that attended and all of our sponsors that support Elmbrook Schools! This event achieved our goals and exceeded our expectations of connecting with families through the exploration of STEAM activities. We can’t wait to see you all next year!” said Elizabeth Simpson, Explore STEAM Chair.
This event could not be possible without our many sponsors and their volunteers. Proceeds from this event will go towards the EEF’s $100,000 commitment to the new Robotics and Automation space at Brookfield East High School. This space is accessible to all Elmbrook high school students and will impact thousands of students for years to come.
Tom Parks, Annex Wealth Management sponsor and volunteer, added, “This was my first year as a volunteer and I’m pretty sure that I had even more fun than the kids! It was great to see families interacting together and to watch people sincerely interested in the various exhibits. I’m already looking forward to next year’s STEAM event!”
EEF was organized in 1958 to award scholarships to select Brookfield High School graduates. In 1999, the Foundation’s mission expanded to include teacher grants for innovative projects that benefit all students and raise money to support and strengthen outstanding learning ideas that improve the overall educational quality of our public schools. EEF has awarded over $1,600,000 in scholarships and over $625,000 in grants which enhance and extend the established curriculum and support projects that are beyond the district’s budget.
