July 15, 2024 – Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin
A free nonprofit training session focused on hiring issues and opportunities will occur on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Sevastopol Town Hall from 8:00 – 11:30 a.m. The interactive session, Nonprofit Hiring & Retention: The Connection Conundrum, will be facilitated by Thomas Schultz, a dynamic human resources professional with more than 25 years of experience.
During the session, nonprofit board and staff members will learn how to make their recruitment process stand out, how to follow best practices and identify relevant skills while interviewing, about crafting promising job offerings, and reflect on the role and timing of feedback with new staff.
“The hiring process can be overwhelming. We are all looking for ways to improve recruitment strategies and find staff whose values and skills align with our organizations’ missions and programs,” notes Jessica Holland, VP of Philanthropic Services at the Door County Community Foundation. “With the help of UW-Green Bay, we have engaged Thomas Schultz to bring fresh ideas to Door County’s nonprofits to help find and retain well-suited staff.”
Schultz brings a broad blend of skills in areas that include leadership coaching, employee relations, benefits, training and development, change leadership, and employment law. He is adept at leading organizational talent and development strategies that tie to tangible business needs. With an accreditation as a certified behavioral consultant, Schultz helps employers understand employees’ behaviors and motivations to create stronger teams.
The training session will begin with registration and a light breakfast at 8:00 a.m. followed by the formal training from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. To learn more and register before August 10, visit www.GiveDoorCounty.org/Training/.
