Bayfield, Wis. (April 9, 2024) – In its second year, Art Escape generated an estimated $3 million in economic impact for Bayfield County and Madeline Island.
“We are ecstatic with these second-year numbers crushing our first year’s economic impact of $750.000,” said Carol Fahrenkrog, executive director of the Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau (BCVB).
Art Escape is a nine-day celebration of all things art. Over the nine days, artists invite the public into their galleries and studios for workshops, classes and demonstrations.
BCVB secured a $10,000 Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to support promotional efforts for the third annual Art Escape. The funding will help the Bayfield Chamber build upon its first and second year successes.
The BCVB is currently accepting applications for the third annual Art Escape which will be held September 7-15, 2024. Applications are due Monday, April 15.
Art Escape kicks off September 7-8, 2024 with the Bayfield Festival of Arts at Memorial Park in the heart of Bayfield. Applications are being accepted for the 61st Festival of Arts, due July 15, 2024.
