Worzalla’s “Dive Into Reading This Summer” Contest Encourages Youth to Read

Stevens Point, Wisconsin (June 14, 2023) – Worzalla, an employee-owned printing company specializing in high-quality children’s books, cookbooks, and hardcover best sellers, invites Portage County area kids aged 5-17 to participate in its annual summer reading contest “Dive Into Reading This Summer.” The contest challenges kids to read throughout the summer and then share how many books they read each month.

“Reading over the summer is a fun way for kids to keep up skills they learn during the school year and to continue using their imagination,” said Kendra Robinson, Human Resources Program Coordinator at Worzalla. “At Worzalla we are constantly implementing and supporting local programs to keep reading fun and engaging for community students.”

To get involved, children aged 5-17 are invited to read as many books in a month as they can during the months of June, July and August. With adult permission and assistance, readers can send an email to readmore@worzalla.com with their name, age, a list of books they read that month, and a photo of themselves with a favorite book from the list. Worzalla will celebrate the winners of each month with a raffle drawing to win an assorted book basket prize. More information and contest rules are available at Worzalla.com.

Worzalla consistently works to encourage community youth to read. During the month of May Worzalla awarded a local family with a book prize basket through its Get Caught Reading Campaign on Facebook. Worzalla is also working with the Portage County Public Library to support their summer reading programs. Worzalla has donated 500 children’s books for the Library to use as summer reading rewards and is also donating 500 bags that the Library will use for their Lit Loot program. The Portage County Public Library’s full roster of summer programming runs through the end of July and can be found at pocolibrary.org/youth-family-resources.
