WICPA: Gov. Evers proclaims November as “CPA Appreciation Month”

WAUKESHA, WI — The Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) is pleased to announce that Gov. Tony Evers and the state of Wisconsin have designated November 2023 as “CPA Appreciation Month” in Wisconsin.

The CPA Appreciation Month proclamation is a chance to celebrate the important role CPAs play in ensuring the fiscal health and well-being of people, businesses and institutions across Wisconsin.

The proclamation also complements our Career Opportunities initiative in November, which encourages WICPA members to speak with students and faculty in high schools to inspire the next generation of certified public accountants.

During the month of November, dozens of Wisconsin CPAs will visit high schools throughout the state to inform students about having a successful career in accounting. WICPA members will provide students with fun materials, discuss what role accountants play in businesses, what courses are necessary to become a CPA, and what they can do with a degree in that field.
“This is a great way for our members to give back to the profession and volunteer their time to talk about the career opportunities available in accounting,” said Tammy Hofstede, the WICPA’s president and CEO. Learn more about CPA Appreciation Month at wicpa.org/CPAmonth.
