Green Bay, Wis.—The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay announced the release of more than $1.6 million in endowed and annual scholarship funds awarded to students for the 2023-2024 academic year. Increasing access to higher education at

UW-Green Bay remains at the core of the University’s mission across its 16-county footprint. The dollars awarded in scholarships come to the University from hundreds of donors gifting through the UW-Green Bay Foundation.

“We are so grateful to our donors that believe in the power of education to empower people,” said UW-Green Bay Chancellor Michael Alexander. “Consistent with our mission, we are committed to giving access to all who want to learn and benefit from education throughout their lives. Our donors share that commitment and ensure that UW-Green Bay can continue to put tremendous graduates out into our communities and throughout the world.”

Alumni and friends of the University consistently demonstrate through their philanthropy that supporting students through scholarship awards is one of their favorite charitable activities.

“Like most public universities, UW-Green Bay’s affordability is one of its most attractive qualities, although any level of tuition and fees can present a problem to a specific family,” said UW-Green Bay Foundation President and Vice Chancellor for Advancement Tony Werner. “These private dollars supplement the federal Pell Grant program and the newly announced Wisconsin Tuition Promise initiative. No matter the source, scholarships give students a motivational boost, letting them know others care about them and support their educational pursuits.”
