Eau Claire, WI- On September 6 th , 2023 delegates and leadership of the Affiliated trades listed above launched an informational campaign surrounding Costco’s decision to hire out-of-state contractors to build their Eau Claire store, leaving behind numerous skilled trade workers in the Chippewa Valley.

“We are surprised and disappointed that a company like Costco, that claims worker-friendly values, has irresponsibly decided to leave our local construction workforce in the dust. Costco’s misplaced priorities and misdirected actions will result in a negative economic impact on our local economy, damage the relationship they have with our community, and frankly let us down. We encourage members of the community to think twice about where they spend their money, because Costco obviously did not”

The Affiliated trades will be informing the public of this slap in the face to our community by Costco, at the Black Avenue construction site where the store is currently being built on September 8 th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Affiliates encourage members of the community to show support for this important matter.
