[Two Rivers, WI] – Two Rivers Public School District held a groundbreaking this afternoon at L.B. Clarke Middle School to commemorate the beginning of referendum construction projects that will include each of the district’s four schools. Principal Timothy Wester, Superintendent Diane Johnson and Board Commissioner Gary Shavlik gave remarks and were joined by Jason Vogds, Senior Project Manager at construction management firm, CG Schmidt. Bray Architects will continue to provide project design services.
The $38.7 M referendum addresses improvements to L.B. Clarke Middle School and district-wide modifications at Two Rivers High School, Koenig Elementary School, and Magee Elementary School. The middle school will receive two new additions — a new, precast gymnasium on the west side of the school and additional classrooms for a fifth-grade wing on the north-side of the school. Remodeling during the summer of 2024 will improve existing classrooms, technical education space, building and electrical updates, an expanded cafeteria, parking and safety and security updates. Construction at the middle school is set to conclude by the end of 2024.
“CG Schmidt is thankful for the opportunity to continue to serve the district and the greater Two Rivers community through this work,” said Ryan Schmidt, project executive at CG Schmidt. “The community’s ongoing support and investment in improving educational spaces for students is felt and sure to result in an excellent construction experience.”
District-wide construction, including entry modifications, improvements to roofing, and playgrounds at L.B. Clarke Middle School, Koenig Elementary School, and Magee Elementary School is scheduled to begin during the summer of 2024.
