Madison, WI – On Wednesday, the Wisconsin State Senate took up and passed the 2023-25 Biennial Budget bill. Senator Mary Felzkowski (R-Tomahawk) voted in favor of the legislation, applauding monumental community investments, fiscally responsible budgeting, and a historic $4.4 billion tax cut.

“After months of pouring over recommendations made by state agencies and the Governor, public hearings, countless meetings with constituents and stakeholders, and long executive sessions, we’ve passed another budget. This major piece of legislation provides increased funding for all aspects of life in Wisconsin, from schools to roads, PFAS mitigation to tourism advertising, investments in housing to the largest tax cut in state history, and everything in-between. In addition, we used cash instead of borrowing, paid off debt, and set our state finances up for future success. As a member of the Joint Finance Committee, I am honored to have been a part of another budget-crafting process, and I was proud to vote in favor of a budget that was made for Wisconsin.”

The Budget Bill will now be sent to the Assembly where it will be taken up on the floor later this week. From there, it will go to Governor Evers where he will either sign it, veto it in its entirety, or line-item veto any portions that he opposes.
