School Choice Wisconsin Action: Applauds committee action on voucher funding

WEST ALLIS – Two key state legislative committees cleared legislation Tuesday to significantly increase funding for Wisconsin’s parental choice programs.

The proposal (AB 305/SB 330) was approved in the Senate Education Committee on a bipartisan 6-1 vote and in the Joint Finance Committee on a bipartisan 12-3 vote.

School Choice Wisconsin Director of Policy and Government Affairs Amy Loudenbeck responded to the news with the following statement:

“Wisconsin is on the brink of another historic bipartisan agreement to expand school choice,” Loudenbeck said. “I applaud the lawmakers who voted yes in committee today, and hope the final votes in the Senate and Assembly will be bipartisan as well.”

School Choice Wisconsin President Nic Kelly said: “This bill has changed the horizon for our private choice schools across the state with a clear path for success and growth moving forward. We are so grateful to see this bill advancing with bipartisan support.”
