Milwaukee, WI, November 1, 2023 – Every year, Revitalize Milwaukee (RM) selects a neighborhood to be the focus of their Block Build MKE event in August. This year, RM is seeking interested neighborhood representatives to interview for a chance to bring Block Build MKE 2024 on August 24, 2024, to their neighborhood. This collaboration will provide powerful and proactive planning to improve the quality of life for neighborhood residents. Please note this is not a request for individuals needing home repairs to apply, but instead a request for groups interested in co-hosting the event and participating in the 8-month planning and coordination to make the event happen in their neighborhood.
Revitalize Milwaukee is a local nonprofit that provides free home repairs to low-income homeowners. Block Build is their annual event where 20+ homes receive repairs in one weekend with the help of local businesses and volunteers. Examples of repairs include porch rebuilds, updated plumbing and electrical, shower conversions, and accessibility modifications like handrails and grab bars, and beautification projects like painting and landscaping.
