MADISON, Wisc. – Today, Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) and his colleagues in the Assembly passed the 2023-25 Biennial Budget:

“Today the Republican Budget again funded key priorities while delivering historic tax cuts.” Said Rep. Macco. “With a $7 billion surplus, we invested in our kids, our roads, and healthcare, while delivering the largest tax cut in state history.”

“Our kids deserve a good education regardless of their zip codes. The additional $1 billion being invested in education will open up opportunities for parents to choose what is best for their child. Our kids are not the same and their education should not be a one size fits all.”

“This budget also makes Wisconsin more competitive with our neighboring states by bringing our tax rates more in line with the rest of the Midwest. These tax cuts are focused on the middle class and the average taxpayer will keep $537 in their pocket. This surplus is your money- money the government took too much of and it needs to go back to you.”

“Finally, I am proud to vote yes on this budget which delivers funding for the 88th Assembly District. With an increase in funding for our local governments, $1 million for the De Pere Greenwood Cemetery shoreline restoration, and tax relief for small business owners and families across our area, this is a budget made not just for Wisconsin, but for the 88th Assembly District as well.”
