Yesterday’s announcement by ABB to invest more than $170 million in clean energy and industries of the future, is another win for Wisconsin and further proof that my economic plan is working to make local economies stronger and more resilient. My Investing in America agenda – including historic legislation such as the Inflation Reduction Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – is driving investment and creating jobs that Americans can raise a family on in Wisconsin and every corner of the country. This investment in an electric drives and services manufacturing facility in New Berlin, Wisconsin will create good-paying jobs, shore up our transportation and infrastructure supply chains here at home, and help build a clean energy economy.
ABB’s announcement, which adds to more than $435 billion in private sector manufacturing investments since I took office, shows that by investing in America, we’re ensuring an economy built from the bottom-up and middle-out, not from the top down – creating manufacturing jobs and leaving no one behind.
