MILWAUKEE, WI – Put on your lederhosen and enjoy some polka as MobCraft Beer is hosting their sixth annual Mobtoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00am in the Walker’s Point taproom located at 505 S. 5th Street in Milwaukee.
The festival will feature live polka bands from 12pm-7pm, German-inspired fare, Oktoberfest themed games and competitions as well as plenty of great beer.
The annual MobCraft festival will of course feature Mobtoberfest Märzen, a classic Oktoberfest-style Lager, boasting a golden amber hue with bountiful malt character at a 6.3% ABV. Mobtoberfest will be available on draft and in carryout 6pks. In addition, MobCraft will be serving several other German-inspired beers along with plenty of other beer styles on draft, cider, hard seltzer and non-alcoholic options.
“Our brewers look forward to brewing Mobtoberfest, our Oktoberfest-style lager, every year! It’s a fun opportunity for MobCraft to embrace a traditional German-inspired style”, says Kayla Thomas, Director of Operations at MobCraft Beer. “Oktoberfest celebrations always signal the start of fall and this malty, crisp lager is the perfect way to welcome the changing of the seasons, whether we are ready for the end of summer or not!”
Elise Strupp, Events & Programming Manager at MobCraft adds: “We are celebrating the sixth year of Mobtoberfest in true MobCraft fashion while honoring the classic elements of Oktoberfest. Along with traditional polka music all day, German-inspired foods and stein holding competitions and games, we are bringing back the fan favorite sausage sculpting competition. We can’t wait to see what funny creations people come up with this year! Just remember to keep it PG-13”.
The live entertainment kicks off at 12 noon with a three hour set from Ray Koncar and the Boys. The music continues with a set from the perennial Mobtoberfest favorite Accordion Gal at 3:15 pm, followed by Chad Pryzbelski and His Polka Rhythms from 4:00-7:00 pm. Throughout the afternoon, there will be various competitions including beer chugging (1:15 pm), stein holding (2:25 pm) and polka dancing (5:00 pm). The contest will be capped off with a sausage sculpting competition (keep it clean folks!) at 6 pm, with registration starting at 5 pm.
The food menu for the day will feature German-inspired favorites such as pretzels with dips and brats with kraut, along with traditional walking pizzas and more.
Mobtoberfest is a free to attend, family and pet friendly event.
