MILWAUKEE (September 6, 2023) – Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport will host the 9th annual ‘Girls in Aviation’ Day event on Saturday, September 23. The annual event is sponsored by the Women in Aviation Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter and will give young girls a look into aviation and aerospace careers with hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes tours and a chance to meet with aviation professionals.
“We’re honored to again host this incredible event for girls from across southeastern Wisconsin,” said Airport Director Brian Dranzik. “Events like this help introduce students to the wide variety of opportunities within the world of aviation; they may leave considering a future career they never knew existed. We’re proud to help inspire the next generation of women in aviation.”
Highlights of the event include giving the girls the opportunity to view and tour various aircraft owned by local Milwaukee companies and to test their pilot skills using flight simulators.
The event is free for girls ages 12-18 and will occur from 9:30am to 1:30pm on Saturday, September 23. Milwaukee Mitchell Airport will provide free lunch for all attendees. Registration is required to attend and the final day to register is Saturday, September 9. Those interested can reserve their spot here.
