MILWAUKEE — County Board 1st Vice Chair Sequanna Taylor is thrilled to announce that she is co-organizing “Youth Day at the Courthouse,” an initiative aimed at empowering and inspiring the youth of our community. The event will take place today, July 19, from 12:00–4:00 PM.
Upon announcing the event, Vice Chair Taylor made the following statement:
“We must ensure that our youth have a voice and a seat at the table. ‘Youth Day at the Courthouse’ is an opportunity for them to connect directly with community leaders, organizations, and government representatives who are dedicated to creating a better future for all. I am honored to host this event alongside those who share our commitment to uplifting and supporting youth.”
“Youth Day at the Courthouse” will feature the participation of esteemed community leaders such as State Representative Kalan Haywood, Chief Judge Carl Ashley, and the Milwaukee County Youth Commission.
Participants will have the opportunity to tour the Milwaukee County Courthouse, attend live court sessions, and gain firsthand experience of the justice system in action through an interactive mock trial. These engaging activities will provide valuable insights into the legal process and cultivate critical thinking skills.
Vice Chair Taylor invites all interested individuals to attend “Youth Day at the Courthouse.” Lunch and informational resources will be provided to participants.
