MILWAUKEE – Today, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 23-578, diverting $225,000 from the County’s contingency fund to provide temporary pavement repairs for Old Loomis Road. Supervisor Kathleen Vincent made the following statement:

“My constituents, those who use the road in general, and even our own Milwaukee County Director of Transportation Donna Brown-Martin have expressed a deep concern regarding the safety risks posed by the deteriorating condition of Old Loomis Road. This vital roadway, serving neighbors, drivers, and users of the Oak Leaf Trail, requires immediate attention to ensure the well-being of our community members. I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Director Brown-Martin as well as my fellow board members for their near-unanimous support in allocating funds for these urgent repairs.” said Supervisor Vincent. “This resolution not only demonstrates our collective commitment to the safety of our residents but is also fiscally responsible as it preserves the integrity of our infrastructure before it can deteriorate further. Politics should never interfere with taking care of our respective districts and constituents.”

Old Loomis Road is a 0.38-mile section of roadway situated between South 76th Street and Hollow Lane, within both the City of Franklin and the Village of Greendale.

This allocation aims to address the urgent repairs required to ensure the safety of vehicles, pedestrians, pets, and users of the Oak Leaf Trail.

The resolution now heads to the desk of County Executive David Crowley.
