Midwest Renewable Energy Association: Hosts Clean Energy Career Fair at The 32nd Annual Energy Fair

Custer, Wis. – June 6, 2023 – The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) is hosting a Clean Energy Career Fair during The 32nd Annual Energy Fair on Friday, June 23, and Saturday, June 24, from 5-7 p.m. To address the need for skilled professionals in the renewable energy industry, the MREA’s Clean Energy Career Fair aims to connect job seekers with companies looking to hire. The Clean Energy Career Fair will take place within the fairgrounds in Custer, Wis. Entrance to the Career Fair is free for all job seekers and potential students with general admission to The Energy Fair.

With the rapid growth of the renewable energy industry, there is an intensified need for clean energy professionals to keep pace with the demand. The Solar Jobs Census consistently highlights hiring challenges faced by solar firms. In 2021, 89% of firms reported difficulty finding qualified applicants. The installation sector faced the highest level of difficulty, with 39% of firms finding it “very difficult” to find qualified applicants.

“The Clean Energy Career Fair provides a unique platform for job seekers, renewable energy training providers, and industry companies to come together and address the hiring gap in the renewable energy sector,” said Celia Sweet, MREA Engagement Director “This is an excellent opportunity for companies to showcase their organizations and network with potential future team members.”

Job seekers attending the Career Fair will have the chance to demonstrate their knowledge and qualifications by networking with industry professionals during a dedicated happy hour sponsored by Panasonic. To enhance career prospects, attendees can also participate in career-focused workshops available during The Energy Fair. Individuals already working in the clean energy field can take advantage of the Energy Professional Continuing Education (CE) Workshop series, sponsored by North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), and earn valuable continuing education credits.

Prior to the event, the MREA encourages job seekers to visit www.midwestrenew.org/training to explore training resources and prepare for networking opportunities. Additionally, job seekers can discover year-round job opportunities at www.solarenergy.jobs
