League of Wisconsin Municipalities: Announces board’s second Vice President Meyer 11-6-23

The League of Wisconsin Municipalities announces Mayor Randy Meyer as the Second Vice President of the League  Board.

Meyer was elected Mayor of Sheboygan Falls in 2004. Prior to this, he served for five years as an Alderman on the  Sheboygan Falls City Council.

Meyer earned a business degree from UW-Whitewater. He was a financial planner for 20 years, holding the distinguished designations, Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified College Planning Specialist (CCPS). He is a graduate of the Leadership in Life Institute (LILI) and a past moderator and a graduate of the Amplify leadership program with Kiwanis  International.

Meyer now owns and operates Meyer Motivates, which gives him the opportunity to present motivational talks across the country to associations and corporations, as The Mayor of Motivation. Cancer took Randy’s eyesight at age 2, his vision for life and determination remained unshaken. Randy’s blindness inspired creative problem-solving, and he refuses to consider it a handicap. Remarkably, Randy enjoys greater success than many with sight, guided by his belief in adapting to the world, not expecting the world to adapt to him. It doesn’t take sight to run a community, it takes a vision.

Meyer was recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Young American (TOYA) by US Jaycees, an Outstanding Young  Wisconsinite by the Wisconsin Jaycees, is a National Wrestling Hall of Fame Inductee, was an All-American and Academic  All-American wrestler, and recognized in the Wisconsin Main Street Hall of Fame by the Wisconsin Economic  Development Corporation (WEDC).

Meyer enjoys community service with the Jaycees as President four times, the Kiwanis as President three times, the  Chamber Main Street, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) – Sheboygan Chapter as President two times, served on the boards of Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation and OccuPaws Guide Dog  School.

Meyer has a wife Tammy, a daughter and son-in-law, two wonderful grandchildren and a guide dog, Hank. He attributes his success to family and setting goals.

“Mayor Meyer is one of those game-changing local leaders,” said League Executive Director, Jerry Deschane. “His leadership style is both practical and forward-thinking. He has been an influential part of the League board and will be  a great leader of it.”

Meyer will take on his role as League President in October 2025.

“Serving on the League board has been a tremendous privilege, and I am deeply honored to be elected as the 2nd Vice President of the Wisconsin League of Municipalities,” stated Meyer. “I’m particularly thrilled to have contributed in a

small, yet impactful way to the strategic efforts that led to an increase in shared revenue for all. Our League Government Affairs Director, Toni Herkert, is the true champion behind this achievement, and the collaborative spirit  fostered is simply magical.”
