Hilldale: To feature new sculpture at MMoCA Gallery Night

Hilldale is excited to participate in this year’s Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) Spring Gallery Night!

Hilldale is one of dozens of venues that will showcase the city’s vibrant arts community through special events and demonstrations, as well as offer the opportunity to see and shop for original artwork. Hilldale is thrilled to be able to show off three murals around the property painted by local artists Brian Kehoe and Stefan Matioc, as well as a brand-new permanent art installation titled, “Hope.”

The towering yellow sculpture, near Anthropologie and Evereve, is part of a series of new works by Boston-based artist John Guthrie, meant to celebrate the many facets of Pride and its place in our lives. Guthrie invites the viewer to embrace curiosity, wonderment, and new ways of seeing the world.

“At Hilldale, we are committed to public art and we are a place that welcomes all,” said Nanci Horn, General Manager of Hilldale. “We hope people will take the opportunity to visit us, on Gallery Night and beyond, to see this new artwork and reflect on what it means in their lives and for our community.”

Visitors can also check out local artwork displayed inside Crescendo Espresso Bar (art by Brooke Leland)andDumpling Haus (art by Shuxing Fan).
